The third edition of Sluhodvod was held at the IZIS festival. The main theme of the festival was the invasion, so Sluhodvod’s process began with thinking about the musical or sonic invasion of the space and it’s occupation.
Fresh Dust Trio (Jaka Berger, Samo Šalomon in Marina Džukljev) released their first record on well known British label FMR and trio of Vid Drašler, Tom Jackson and Daniel Thompson released it on Creative Sources from Portugal.
In the past few months, two recordings were released by Zvočni prepihi, the debut of the duo by violinist Mark Jenič and percussionist Vid Drašler, and in June the echo of the music by Morton Feldman, created by Jaka Berger with pianist Dejan Berden.
This year’s edition of Sound Explicit is full of exciting young voices from various fields of experimental music. The 2-day festival this year is taking place on 3 and 4 September at Jakopič Gallery, Ljubljana.
As part of putting together the material for their debut album release, the Slovenian drummer and his British collegues are playing again three concerts in Slovenia between 3 and 5 September.
The material of the album entitled Sifat was recorded live at the quartet’s concert at the old train station in Vrhnika as part of Rojišče, a concert series of free improvised music, on 23 April 2018.
