Žiga Koritnik announces crowdfunding campaign of his upcoming music photo book

376 pages with 272 photos in black and white with few exceptions from 45 music festivals and locations taken at 14 different countries on 4 different continents, all Designed by Marek Wajda. Acclaimed Slovenian photographer Žiga Koritnik’s forthcoming photo book Cloud Arrangers starts its crowdfunding campaign at Kickstarter on 6 September, Thursday at midday.

The ambitious project is going to present the best moments caught on stage, and many portraits of well-known musicians from different genres, such Miles Davis, Sonny Rollins, Anthony Braxton, Peter Brötzmann, Paul Lovens, Han Bennink – just to name a few.

Žiga Koritnik began to follow music with his photo camera over thirty years ago. Since then, he has produced more than 60 solo exhibitions all over the world, worked for several festivals and taken more than 150 portraits of musicians. He has created immortal images by employing equally both analogue and digital photography techniques. These techniques allow him to bring the music world closer, transcending music genres to tell the story of music to all.

As Slovenian writer Sonja Porle reminds, Cloud Arrangers is not a book for lovers and connoisseurs of jazz, but a book for lovers of music, and for lovers of photography who love music. The preface to the photo book is written by All About Jazz’s John Kelman, and also includes informative texts by Joëlle Léandre, Joe McPhee, Ken Vandermark and Mats Gustafsson.

Žiga Koritnik’s outstanding project can be supported here until 10 October, Wednesday midnight.
